Plastic Bags Will Cost You

Today is already a Sunday. I guess I didn't keep my words of posting every Friday after all. So what excuse should I give myself? Was I too busy with workloads to post a blog? No, because even though I do have piles of workloads, I haven't start on a single one yet. Thus, the question remains, what is my excuse. Well, I was just to plain lazy, that's why.

OK, with that being said and cleared, let us move on.

Well, untuk dijadikan cerita, yesterday (which was a Saturday) I went to Giant Seksyen 18, to buy stuff. When I got to the cashier, I was told that it was a Saturday which meant no plastic bags will be given. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against and am fully in support of the 'No Plastic Bags on Saturdays' campaign. At least its a small but meaningful step towards preserving the environment as well as promoting recycling.

Here is a poster of the said campaign.

So, I was actually OK that they won't provide us with the plastic bags. But then the cashier went ahead and said,

"Nak plastic? Kalau nak, satu plasctic 20 sen."

Aku pun dah like WTF? I thought it was suppose to be "NO PLASTIC BAG" day, not "NO PLASTIC BAG UNLESS YOU PAY 20 SEN PER BAG" day!

Terus aku hilang respect kepada campaign ni. I mean, if we really want to promote preservation of our environment, be serious about it! Be strict and provide no loopholes for people to escape from this campaign.

I mean, 20 sen per plastic bag?? Alahai, 20 sen tu kutip kat lantai rumah sewa pun boleh dapat lah! Get my point?

My point is, setakat 20 sen satu beg plastic, ibarat free plastic beg juga tu. Kira macam tak ada maknalah promote "No plastic bag" tapi still got if you want it for a price. Kalau betul-betul nak set a price for it pun, letaklah harga at least pun RM1 per bag. Haaa, kan bagus mahal-mahal. Because our main goal is to discourage people from using plastic bags, not make a profit from selling them!

So, mesti ada yang fikir nanti, "Alahhh, menyusahkanlah nanti tak ade plastic. Nak angkut barang macam mana??"

Bawaklah beg sendiri dari rumah!

Lepas tu, mesti ada orang cakap "Alahhh, menyusahkanlah nak bawak beg!".

Haaa, ni lah mentaliti orang Malaysia! Cakap "tak boleh" sebelum even doing anything. Negative dulu sebelum positive. To they're thinking, they'd rather bring duit syilling 20sen yang nipis tu instead of bringing they're own shopping bags. Lepas tu, kerajaan kita yang sedia kala mengetahui perangai rakyatnya, pergi letak harga 20sen untuk satu beg plastic. Memang tak ada effectlah kepada orang kita!

Haihhhh, Ok, Thats the end of my rant for today. Kenapa aku emo sangat hari ini? Entahlah, mungkin sebab tak dapat Rotiboy yang aku idamkan sangat tu kot.

Anyway, hari tu I went to the movies. Pastu ada tayang satu trailer nih. Mula-mula aku ingatkan movie Hollywood, rupa-rupanya cerita orang kita! Gila cool trailernya weh! Ceritanya keluar minggu depan. First time aku tak sabar nak tengok cerita hasil tanaha air kita! :D
